Why the breaking current range is higher than the operating value of a circuit breaker?
In our power plant 33KV side vacuum breakers breaking current value at its name plate is some 1000amps. yet at 33kv side rated amps is 175amps. As that breaker should break the circuit above 175amps itself, then why they notified as 1000amps.
