LEDs in parallel rather than series circuit?

To do this in parallel you connect each plus of each LED to the plus of the battery and each minus of each LED to the regulator. In order to make this circuit much better you need to add a small current limiting resistor in series with each LED. I can't tell you the value of the resistor without knowing the specs of the LED's.
