What is this Final Fantasy film?

I recently remembered a Final Fantasy film I Absolutely loved when I was much younger but I can't remember what it's called or fully remember the story line. If I had to guess the year i'd say mid-90's. I think the story starts with a woman on Earth but it's completely destroyed, even so she's looking for a plant of some sort. She is then taken on board a spaceship and they all have some scan, every ones fine apart from the man who took her and is about to die so she uses the plant she found to save him. After that I can't remember much else but I would be grateful if you know what i'm talking about. If you could also recommend any other Final Fantasy films i'd be grateful. Thank you ! :)
